Change a task's details

tasks.task.update

POST/api/v1/households/{household_id}/commands/tasks.task.update

Changes the title, description, priority, assignee, due date, scheduled time or duplicate marker. Sets only the fields given; send null to clear one. A new assignee is notified and starts watching. Use tasks.task.set_state for to do, doing, blocked and done. Fails with task_not_found or person_not_found.

Give with scheduled_end; null for both clears the time.

scheduled_endstring (date-time) or nulloptional

A time, ISO 8601 with a zone, such as 2026-11-09T09:00:00Z.

duplicate_of_task_idstring or nulloptional

Mark it a duplicate of another task, or null to unmark. A duplicate leaves the queue.

200 The command was applied.

Errors#

Every error has the same envelope: error.code, error.message, error.details, error.recovery and error.request_id.

These are real. Each scenario is one of the command's test cases, run on a household when this site was built, and the response is what the API returned.

Changing the title rewrites the pending reminder with it
